Macbeth and An inspector Calls lit exam, How do I get 40/40? watch

    • Thread Starter

Explore the presentation of strong emotions in relationships between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth and Mr and Mrs Birling, please help the exam is soon

This isn't developed or anything, but good luck

Mrs Birling is described as Mr Birlings "social superior"
Lady Macbeth is often stronger than her husband (examples either that she holds her grief together until the end of the play or that she convinces her husband to kill the king), showing that she is superior to him.

also I'm pretty sure that mrs birling hates/ dismisses the lower classes a lot (quote; a girl from that class which shows she doesn't deign to use her name and refers to Eva by her social status) showing that shes arrogant. Mr birling says "cheap labour" and I'm sure you can find a boat load of other quotes to show how arrogant he is as well. anyway, at the end they both deny their responsibility towards Evas death together.
Likewise Lady Macbeth and Macbeth (I think he does too) believe that Macbeth has the right to be king. showing their arrogance.

    I hope this helps
