has anybody else been told they are going to get less than they expected for the maintenance loan?. it was my understanding that the loan now replaced the grant and was going to be higher, please correct me if im wrong?
this will be my first year (2016) for mental health nursing full time.
I have sorted the bursary but when i heard back from sfe i am only entitled to just over £2300. i have read (and been told by an ex student) that you can get up to just over £5000 if your household income is low, we are not over the threshold as a married couple so why am i not getting the full loan? bare in mind i will be going from full time work to full time student so will need something to pay the bills.
will be calling them tomorrow but just wondering if anybody is having the same issue?

    See https://www.gov.uk/nhs-bursaries/what-youll-get

£2,324 is the maximum payable in maintenance loan to people living away from parents outside London (who are in receipt of an NHS bursary).

Combined with the maximum bursary/grant (another £3,643) then you'll receive just under £6k (only £2,300 of which has to be repaid)

You should also be eligible for hardship funds: https://www.gov.uk/extra-money-pay-university/university-and-college-hardship-funds and you may be eligible for income support: https://www.gov.uk/student-finance/extra-help
