Successful hair loss tips

Hey everyone,

This is my post on TSR, so hopefully it’ll be a good one, the thread is obviously about hair loss and I’d like to share some tips on how to overcome hair loss. You may have read these already on the internet but mine will be from my own experience with hair loss.

1. Visit the doctor, and request a blood test you may have some kind of deficiency such as iron. Symptoms on iron defiency include low concentration. always feeling tired and feeling cold constantly
2.If so, take some Iron tablets preferably the ferrous sulphate ones, it would be wise to take these tablets with pure orange juice as orange juice allows quick absorption of the tablets. Do not swallow the tablet with milk since milk isn’t good for absorbing the iron. Take 2-3 tablets daily but this may depend on the how low your iron is. Also, have the iron tablets on an empty stomach so for example have breakfast in the morning and then when your feeling hungry then take the tablets. Continue taking these tablets for 5-6 months.
3.stress can also play a major factor with hair loss, so why not join yogo classes or a sports club
4.Try and eat as much green vegetables as you . You can buy some small fresh spinach from Asda which costs around 1-2 pounds. Spinanch is very good source of iron and one that I eat every day. You do not eat it raw but could eat it along with your dinner.
5.Do not use pantene or head and shoulders, these shampoos contain strong chemicals which are very harmful to your hair and can result in hair loss deteriating.
6.Buy a special shampoo designed for fine hair, one good shampoo I use is Foltene, this shampoo is a godsend for those who have thinning hair not only is it mild but at the same time thickens your hair. Foltene is quite expensive, but the more expensive the product is the more likely it will work. You can purchase 3 x foltene for 18 pounds from ebay.
7.Finally rub pure coconut oil on your hair, leave iit in your hair overnight. You can buy this from any health shop and it only costs 3 pounds. Coconut oil is also a godsend since not only does it nourish your hair but also gives us some volume and thickeness . ever since I started using coconut oil I have noticed new hairs growing and overall my hair has grown a lot since I’ve been using it

Finally, I would like to say good luck, and thank you for taking your time to read this, I hope this was helpful and I wish you the best. This regime worked wonders for me and now am extremely happy with the results and finally Do not waste money on products which only give cosmetic effects

Thanks for sharing your tips, but I'm not sure that a student forum is the best place to discuss this. Most students have too much hair!

Well, I've got a friend who is 20 and his hair is already thinning! But he shaves his hair so it isn't really visible.

I've just been put on some ferrous sulphate tablets for anemia. They're making me feel pretty ill, is this something that should stop OP?

Yeah I had the same problem when i first started having my iron tablets, one of the side effects of iron supplements is that it can cause constipation and can make your stools black. however the trick is to eat the tablets on an empty stomach as iron is best absorbed in an empty stomach. also you should take the iron supplements with orange juice or vitamin C tablets since Vitamin C in orange juice helps to increase the iron absorption.

Anymore questions, queries etc regarding hair loss?

Well, I started losing hair when I was 15 I believe and it has really upset me at times. To be honest, these ti[s are nothing when it's genetic. On my mums side of the family every male cousin has started or has lost their hair like me at about 18/19. I'm 19. It's just genetic and unfortunate.

Actually, if you do a quick search on threads on hair loss, it's a surprisingly common problem.

You can take vitamin C tablets everyday but they won't prevent you from getting the cold.

Baldness is hereditary.

Baldness is not the only kind of hair-loss and not all hair-loss is permanent. You can start losing your hair for all sorts of reasons.

but its best to try find the source of the problem as and when it possible!

Maybe it's just me, but often I find after I've got my hair cut and coloured the hair loss is reduced/almost non-existent for a good few weeks.

:ditto: why wait since it will not solve the problem, its best finding the cause of the problems sooner then later as you'll at least get the chance to properly treat it.

Yeah thats wise but since the hair is short why don't you get some layers put in? since layered hair does add fullness and body.
