I'm starting uni from year 2 due to doing a college course in media production. I'm worried that I will know nothing relevant and not have the appropriate skill. Saying that, I like working extremely hard and have started preparing . I wondered....does anyone know the general level of skill/knowledge after year one? also is any one doing a film related degree and have some recommended topics/books/films/time periods ect to focus on?

    Thank you

If you get in touch with the uni that you're going to start on and ask the same questions they'll be able to point you at some specific information. Also ask them to send you the course handbook and module handbooks for the first year so that you can read through and get a feel for what you might need to work on and what your current study has covered.

It might also be worth asking if they can put you in contact with the current first years (or have a look to see if there is a facebook group).
