We've got a '99 special edition 1.5 Civic just sitting in our driveway. Brand new clutch installed, none of us drive it.

I was wondering, how do you think it could fare for a track conversion? (I used to race a fair amount karting championships and did a junior racing league when i lived abroad, I'm no "yellow-belly", although I've never converted my own car before). Still got the old trailer and tools for tuning, but I'd certainly want to get a professional to work her up.

I was going to look at having a car put together anyway, but was previously inclined towards a Vectra.

Wouldn't spend too much, probably in the £4-6.5k range.

If you have it laying around, makes sense to use it. No need to spend that much either, look at Demontweeks, they do great cheap packages for things like harnesses
