Women admit that once they hit their 30s they become invisible

I know.

I was actually initially going to respond "what are you talking about? we're talking about relationships here, not careers", but decided take another route.
No. Not in their 30s.

Most likely sometime in their 40s.

Ageing is somewhat harsher on women. Men, if anything, have a higher value in their 40s and 50s.

While women of this age often end up unwanted and forgotten about. :frown:

That's the problem. So many women omen think that men will be attracted to them because of "creativity, intelligence, personality, good career, etc" when that is like 10% of the attraction for men. Whether you like it or not, for most men youth and looks are the key factors when it comes to dating and even marriage.

Then there's reality, looking around at people who date in middle age you wouldn't think that looks and youth are key factors for either of the couple lol. They do matter but it's more the juvenile attitude. Though my middle aged aunt managed to trade her husband in for a younger man but it was more to do with personality and comparability she said.

It is true, but it is also the case for the many people born with below average looks who were never visible in the first place. Though I guess those people have the advantage at the age of 30 in that they had to develop a personality when they were still young. Of course, not a few people have neither looks nor personality. Let's spare a thought for them too.

Not in the looks department IMO (unless they were already good-looking). Your average man in his 40s and 50s looks pretty awful.

Depends on grooming, obviously if you've not trimmed your nose hairs, you're balding awfully and you look like a fat mess in horrible old people clothes you're not going to be appealing. I think most men just give up.

Probably has more to do with bad grooming and style etc.

Many men in their 40s can look better than they did at 20.

They are less affected by ageing. Soft skin etc is not so important for a man.

Obviously they are also earning more money than younger men.

There's a woman in her 60s where I live who used to be a dancer, she's slim (not the ugly fat old type build) and still dresses like a young model. She's still old but she's way, way better looking than your average old folk because she actually clearly grooms

Yea but they are ignoring this overwhelming fact of everyday reality and seem to be comparing Brad Pitt to the average middle aged woman . Compare another celebrity like Madonna to Brad Pitt.

Yeah I get that. It always makes me laugh when people say you should go bald and then post a picture of a celebrity with a perfectly formed head. Umm that's nice but you'll probably look more like a potato.
Obviously the throne always has to be put down and carried on by another. Who cares. Us 20 something year olds will be there one day.
Men look sexier 27+ though :colonhash:

So much of it is in the mind.

She made an effort to look her best. She dresses youthfully and therefore feels young and sexy. When a person wears those rain jackets and hiking shoes everywhere, they feel past it.

All that stuff about just accepting ageing. I personally intend to colour my hair when I go grey. Makes so much difference.

True.

Almost all men look better in their 30s.

A man who is pretty average at 20 can be transformed by the time he reaches his 30s. Obviously gym and grooming help too.

Just look at Chris Hemsworth and Ryan Gosling.

Exactly if a guy is 20 and looks good by 26 he's going to be drop dead sexy.
