I go back to my home country every summer holiday and wanted to know if I have to be in the UK during A-level results day, so that correct arrangements can be made. Are all of the processes done online (university getting results, clearing, etc.)?

If you end up in clearing/ needing to phone your firm/insurance then you d need to be able to call the uk but assuming you can do that you should be ok.

It is easier if you could come home in time.

If you get into either your firm/insurance then its pretty straightforward and you can do everything that comes next like checking what accomodation you've been allocated and paying the accomodation deposit online.

However as claireesttelle has said, part of clearing takes place over the phone. What happens is those in clearing call up universities with vacancies and once they have a verbal offer, they add the choice tot rack and then its accepted. Universities also hold clearing open days a few days after results day for you to visit, this means you aren't going to a university you have never seen before.
