So, in the fallout of the IDS resignation, the story is still not quite clear. Why did he resign?

    - Was it over the PIP cuts?
    - Was it because IDS didn't feel comfortable with the governments wider strategy of deficit reduction ("we're all in this together" mantra)
    - Was it over the EU? Was IDS trying to hurt the In campaign? Is he trying to secure a seat in government if, come June 23rd, Britain votes to leave the EU and - more than likely - Boris is victorious in the inevitable Tory leadership campaign?
    - Was it because of personal relations with George Osborne? Apparently Osborne and IDS had always had a rocky relationship
    - Other?

I'll try and include a poll!

Many commentators are labelling this resignation the biggest - or most damaging - since the Thatcher years, so I think it's interesting to see how TSR members see it!

I find it difficult to believe he's suddenly found a conscience, personally.

To harm the In campaign, harm Osbourne's leaderships ambitions and ensure a senior position in a Boris government.

    This,

He's ballsed up most of what he did in the DWP and if he gets a senior position in a Johnson Government then it should all be worth it, however, he's not exactly well liked among the general population so Johnson would have to think very carefully about where he puts IDS in a future cabinet.
