Islamic State has vowed 'harder and more bitter' attacks against the UK and its allies following another day of terror in Europe.

The warning comes just hours after 34 people were killed in a series of blasts in the Belgian capital Brussels.

A statement released on the group's official Telegram account said:
We promise dark days to the states who have allied against Islamic State in reply to their aggression against our state.

And what awaits you will be harder and more bitter, with the grace of Allah.
At least 34 people have been killed and 170 injured after suicide bombers detonated explosives in Brussels Airport and at a Metro station in the city during the morning rush hour.

    The full statement said:
We promise to the states that are allied against the Islamic State that they will face dark days in return for their aggression against our state. And what will await you will become harder and more bitter through the grace of Allah.

In praise of Allah who has made our blows precise and helped us succeed. we demand for him to accept our brothers among the martyrs.

By the grace of allah and his goodness, a secret cell of soldiers of the caliphate, which Allah gave power and victory, has launched an attack in the direction of Belgium which has not ceased to combat Islam and Muslims.

Allah has thus given victory to the hands of our brothers and thrown fear and terror in the hearts of our enemies, in the middle of their land.

In effect, a number of soldiers of the caliphate wearing explosive belts bombs and military guns and choosing their targets with precision in the Belgian capital Brussels, have launched attacks inside the Zaventem airport and a metro station to kill a largue number of our enemies.

They then detonated their suicide belts in the middle of the crowds. the death toll has risen to 40 dead and at least 210 injured among the citizens of the crusader states.
A series of coordinated bomb attacks sent Brussels into lockdown less than five months after Paris was hit by a wave of deadly strikes.

Today's atrocities, condemned as "blind, violent and cowardly" by Belgian prime minister Charles Michel, came after the arrest last week of terror mastermind Salah Abdeslam, who plotted November's massacre in the French capital.

Security was being stepped up at major transport hubs around the continent, with British police forces boosting numbers at "key locations" including ports, airports and the rail network.

French prime minister Manuel Valls said:
We are at war. In Europe we have been subjected to acts of war for several months.
Security checks are being intensified at the UK's borders in the wake of the Brussels terror attacks, Theresa May has said.

The Home Secretary disclosed the move as she set out a number of precautionary measures taken "to ensure public safety and provide public reassurance" following the atrocity in the Belgian capital.

    She told MPs:
Border Force is carrying out more intensive checks at the UK border including greater searching of vehicles, the use of search dogs and greater numbers of Border Force officers on duty.
Police forces have already confirmed that additional officers have been deployed to patrol at key locations and on the transport network.

Mrs May said full details of the "appalling" attacks are not yet known and described the situation as "fast-moving".

She said she was aware of reports that Islamic State (IS) - which she referred to as Daesh - has claimed responsibility.

The Home Secretary told the Commons Home Affairs committee:
We stand together against the terrorists and they will not win.

ISIS continues to exist only because we rate innocent life above their complete destruction. The West if it willed it could destroy the group in a matter of days, perhaps they should consider how tenuous their existence is when putting out their ******** propaganda. Western states will be around long after these scum have been ground into the dust.

tbh why don't we just bomb the entire area; it would be better suited as a sun and wind farm than what it's currently being used for..
