    I really want to apply for sociology at uni for 2017 entry
    does it matter that I have not taken it for an A level
    I am taking an essay based subject which im hoping for a B or even an A in
    does anyone had any advice for me

    Depends what uni you want to go to, some may require it and others may not
    For example Manchester have a list of subjects and you have to be studying at least one and it's a wide range of subjects

    im looking at

    Nottingham
    Bristol
    surrey
    brighton
    sussex
    and maybe Westminster
    on the ucas website it doesn't say that it is needed I just wasn't sure whether I would be looked upon less as a candidate if I haven't take it at A LEVEL

    If they say it is not required, then I highly doubt you'll be at a disadvantage As long as you're predicted the grades that are required I'm sure they'll offer you a place

    providing it's not a criteria to get an offer you'll be fine, I did psychology and a bit of sociology as electives and it really starts from the basics, you can always read a few bits before you start if you're worried about other people being ahead of you
