In the reaction between potassium bromate (V), potassium bromide and hydrogen ions, copper (II) chloride acts as a homogeneous catalyst? Does anyone know specifically how this happens? What are the changes in oxidation state that allow it to facilitate the transfer of electrons and to and from what? :-)
