If anyone decides to take an extra AS in year 13 can they then stay at sixth form for another year to complete that A level (not retaking other subjects)?
Would top universities like the fact that you've done an extra A level - presumably with a decent grade at the end of it as fewer subjects - or dislike the fact that you've delayed?
I'm not really considering this yet, just curious.
Does anyone stay on a year to do extra A/AS levels? Is this a thing? Watch

Some do. Most of them do at least 3 half A-levels in the year though.
For universities, its doesn't really matter but you have to make sure you keep improving in your subject.

Depends on your current situation.
If you are doing 3 A levels right now then it is pointless taking an extra AS subject then continuing just that onto year 14. Staying on a third year is only really for those who are currently doing one/two A levels and taking another One/Two AS levels so that they then have the credentials to apply to univeristy in year 14 when they continue those AS levels onto A levels
