Year 11s with high GCSE expectations, how are you coping with the workload? Are you prioritizing A* subjects, how do you revise best and what techniques do you use? My predicted grades are A*s English Lit, Lang, Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Biology, Food Technology, Spanish and History and As in Drama and Chemistry. Any tips on how to bump everything up to a secure A*?

Hi - I'm aiming for 10 A*s, and an A in Additional Maths (that's the highest they'll give you). Given that I don't do Drama, I can't give you advice on that. But for Chemistry, I'll just say what I'm sure everyone else has said - past papers. But make sure you do know the content first, so you can actually understand where you have gone wrong. To check I don't miss anything, I like to make my notes under each specification point to make sure every single one is covered.

When revising, I normally just work for 1-2 hours, take a break, and then continue (for up to 6 or so per day, sometimes less and sometimes more), but I recently got an app called 'forest' which is great for preventing distractions on your phone. For history, I just go over my notes and listen to these podcasts I found on itunes, and for sciences and maths I do practice questions. I don't do Spanish, but I find Quizlet good for Latin and Greek vocab.

I think I'm coping okay, but I'm a little worried about staying motivated throughout the whole of the Easter holiday....

    Good luck!
