    Planes are on the up.

The trains are back on track.

There are plans to build a new motorway but it'll be a long road ahead.

Got pissed because I missed the tube, even though another train would be there in 3 minutes.

Ideas to dig new access routes under both the peak district and the pennines, but so far there's no light at the end of the tunnel.

They want to build a road around the mountains but it's driving them around the bend.

They wanted to create a cycle highway through the mountain but they were told "on your bike!"

Over the last year I'd say the Skylon/SABRE engine, a UK-developed technology that fuses a rocket engine and a jet engine in the same piece of technology. It could revolutionise international air travel (London to Sydney in an hour, that kind of thing)

I watched a documentary about it, most of the technologies involved in it are already quite mature, the main problem was how to manage the cooling system. The system as a whole has matured to a point where the UK government gave them a grant of £60 million and I think BAE (or one of the big defence contractors) has bought into the project such that they've raised a further £125 million for development.

All In all, those involved do seem to think this technology is viable. Flight tests are scheduled for 2020.

The documentary is quite interesting, here it is
