Ok, I have been single for a number or years, I have been chatting to a girl on line and skype for a number of weeks, we have talked about meeting up for a date in the next few weeks when she gets back from holiday. The thing is I am moving jobs soon and I know for the first couple of months the job will be very very intense as there will be a lot to learn and will be very pressurized for the first few months.

Thus I don't know if I have the time to invest in dating at the moment. I would love to date and feel she is a lovely girl, but if we did want to take things further after meeting for real I don't think it would be fair on her as I will not have the time to pay her enough attention while I am settling into my new role.

It just seems that 2 excellent things are happening to me at once. It is literally my dream job and I have wanted to do it for years, if I do't perform in my new role I will be out the door. Likewise I would love to get to know this girl more, having been single for a few years, its the first time in a long time someone has expressed a serious interest. Most girls friendzone me. I have a feeling this could be differnt.

Advise on what to do would be gratefully recieved

I think you need to talk to her about this. Is she aware of the new job?

at this stage i think your job should take precedent, you have not met, if you ask her to wait I can guarantee she will say no as she will be online dating others too. Most people date multiple people at a time when it is early doors. You will loose your chance

You have absolutely no idea about this person, he's the one that knows her.
You cant guarantee she will say no.

So, I would go for it. It might not actually turn in to a relationship that needs loads of commitment. And if it does, there is more to life than work, high achievers also find time for other things and you'll be more productive if you're getting your oats.

Lol people work 12 hour shifts everyday and have a love life. I'm sure you can spare a couple hours to meet up with her. You sure this isn't just an excuse to get out of it for other reasons?
