I'm trying to decide on a laptop to get for university in September. I will be studying English Literature and Creative Writing. I will need something with a good battery life and a decent screen size but compact enough to carry around with me, any suggestions?

Have you tried places like cash converters/generators? I spent £300 on a laptop from one of those trade in stores and it runs well enough to play games like skyrim etc. You should be able to get a good laptop there at a fraction of the price and in good condition than you bought one new,if you go in and have a look at the models they have you can take a note of them and go home and look up the reviews etc? That's what I done and it benefited me because I din't have a good idea of what I wanted in the first place.
