It depends on whether you're in a newly refurbished block or not. The kitchens and bathrooms in blocks A, L and K are all refurbished now and are nice and modern. You get 2 fridge-freezers, 1 oven, 1 microwave in the kitchen. The flats have separate rooms for the toilet and shower. Each flat is for 5 people.

I think the plan is to refurbish more blocks over the summer, I heard that they're going to do block B but I'm not too sure. I haven't been in an unrefurbished block so I can't say what their kitchens and bathrooms are like.

There are some flats/blocks that are reserved for international students, some for post grads and some for people who want to stay somewhere quieter. In the summer a lot of people sit outside on the grass and have BBQs. People sometimes say that its a dodgy area to live in but in truth its just outside of a bad area. Me and my friends haven't had any trouble living here and they have good security. It can be quite quiet at times, that's the only downside really but I've enjoyed living there this year.

Edit: And each bedroom has its own washbasin

Thanks for your response. It was really helpful. I'm going to be an international postgrad in September. I was going to choose Leodis at first, but then decided on Monty B instead as it's a little less expensive.

Any opinions on Montague Burton? There's been hardly any mention of it. What are the kitchen and bathrooms like?

Hi.

Monty B def has a better social atmosphere than Leodis. No doubt bout it.

Several times during the year barbecues/bouncy castles and stuff are arranged.

Bathrooms are shared between the people in your flat, and kitchens are quite small so you'll need to make the most of your space.

It's not bad and prob represents good value for money.

It's located half way up a hill, as opposed to Leodis which is at the bottom of said hill! :p:

Monty B will be a good choice for you.

I can't believe I forgot about that monster of a hill up to uni! From Monty B you get used to it after a while but if you have to walk up from Leodis that's when it really starts to hurt!

This is where I applied (and got into) this year. I hope I like it. The pics look nice, but then again they always do whether it's nice or not.

How far is is from the uni (walking)?

Depends what bit of the campus you're on. I'd say a 5 min quick walk to Parkinson steps. but I'm down the opposite end of the campus and it's about 15 mins walk.

Cool, thank you!
If you're going to be in Montague Burton, there is now an official Leeds Uni facebook group for it. It's a chance to chat to your future flat mates, ask any questions you might have and find out what's going to be going on in your halls.
