# Maths sketching graphs watch

1. so i have ln(4x-12) im i moving the graph 12 units to the right then dividing by 4 or dividing by 4 first then moving 12 units to the right?
2. Its either move to the right 12 units and then stretch in x direction by SF 1/4
Or it's a stretch in the x direction by SF 1/4 followed by a translation - 3 units to the right.
Either is correct.
(Obviously in an exam refer to them as translations through vector (a,b) but I'm just writing it quickly here).

thanks man if i had something like -ln(4x-12) id do the reflection last right?
4. It wouldn't matter if you did the reflection in the x axis first or after all the other transformations - because the other transformations are in the x direction but the last one is a reflection in the x axis (the y coordinates change sign right) which acts in the y direction.
