It seems to be the case that left-wingers in general these days especially among our generation are non-religious so I was curious to see if anyone identifies as Christian socialist on here.

NB This doesn't refer to someone who is merely both a Christian and a socialist but rather a socialist whose political views are directly rooted in and influenced by their Christian convictions

I used to be a Christian socialist when I was around 13/14. (My dad's a preacher so yeah.) A totalitarian revolutionary Christian socialist to be exact. Then I lost faith in Christianity and socialism at around the same time and now I'm an atheist Nietzschean radical elitist.

Tbh, I was always an elitist and something of a snob. I am very cynical of humanity in general and I believe that the vast majority of human beings must be led if they are to be of any use. One I stopped being a Christian there was no point in me being a socialist. I have never truly believed in the equality of human beings, I just believed that they should be economically equal.

Have you ever read Karl Barth? A lot of his theology work is based on his beliefs in socialism and vise-a-versa. Same with Tillich but he leaned more towards a form of early Marxism. May be worth a read if you ever get the chance, there's a lot of very wonderful Christian philosophers in the 20th century who moved towards more political writing Dostoevsky in particular presents a really interesting religious, non-material socialist ideal.

You're a sociopath, not a 'Nietzschean radical elitist'.
