Motion on Free Legal Advice on Housing for the Poor, TSR Green Party
This House believes that legal knowledge is not often accessible to the disadvantaged members of our society and that housing is a basic need.

This House moves that Her Majesty's Government and/or local councils should take up the initiative to provide free or low cost legal advice on housing to the poor.

I voted no because the Greens have become lazy recently choosing to make everything a short motion when a longer bill would be more apt.

While I don't like the ‘alms for the poor’ narrative and think that you're essentially promoting positive discrimination because people who do well and contribute to the development of the society get nothing free (which is a paradox and it should be the other way round), I think this kind of education could eventually help the poor take care of themselves.
