Medical experts call for global drug decriminalisation Watch

An international commission of medical experts is calling for global drug decriminalisation, arguing that current policies lead to violence, deaths and the spread of disease, harming health and human rights.
The commission, set up by the Lancet medical journal and Johns Hopkins University in the United States, finds that tough drugs laws have caused misery, failed to curb drug use, fuelled violent crime and spread the epidemics of HIV and hepatitis C through unsafe injecting.
But apparently Theresa May, who has a Bachelor's in Geography, knows something that this commission of medical experts doesn't.

Base our policy on scientific research? **** that, introduce a blanket ban on ALL drugs and we'll rake in the money from our friends in the alcohol and tobacco industries.

    Corrupt old hag.

    That was an interesting read.

I've heard they are going to have trouble implementing the April ban on research chemicals and it's being pushed back?

It's already an Act of Parliament and scheduled to be enforced in April at some point.

Although there has been no official notice, I've heard from a reliable source it is looking increasingly likely that because of questions regarding the enforceability of such a blanket ban, it will not be implemented on 6th April? We will see though!

All the vendors, RC forums and other online stores (e.g. selling Kratom) are going on about April - most have probably shut down by now or will soon after stocks are out. Haven't really heard any new updates, just speculation.

Are you able to elaborate on here about this reliable source? (If it's against site policy, then don't)

The New Psychoactive Substances Act has passed through Parliament, received Royal Ascent and was due to come into force 6th April 2016. However, it has been postponed 'indefinitely' after it was pointed out by the police that it is unenforceable.

Nice, these medical experts want fallout to become a reality. Can't wait for them to ask for the Deathclaws, Radscorpions and Robobrains.

Debate and rhetoric have a history spanning thousands of years and primacy as the ultimate form of decision making. These Scientists with their wishy-washy evidence and advice can step back.
