Freedom of speech does not mean you have the freedom to insult and cause offence to people for discriminatory reasons.
Yes, it does and should. One of the reasons it does and should is because "offence" and "insult" are subjective - your freedom of speech is another man's insult and offence, and vice versa.

What he said didn't warrant an arrest. A lot of people are angry about the attacks and act irrationally due to their anger. We should be arresting those who are endorsing the attacks.
That doesnt make sense. Care to elaborate?

It doesn't make sense or you don't want it to make sense. It was plain English.

Free speech has to protect stupidity and the right to be wrong.
Wha he has done is stupid it doesn't incite racial hatred and arresting him for it will not solve any problem, if you think the way to solve a problem is by attacking people's thoughts the people will react.

It seems the 46% are getting their way.
He should be locked up for the rest of his life. Free speech should exist but with limits such not attacking the words of the Quran and Allah, not offending Muslims, not offending the religious needs and acts, not offending our cultures. These all constitute as hate speech, racism, xenophobia and fascism

Free speech can't exist with limits, placing limits on speech means it isn't free.
There is no right to not be offended.

Wrong, you can have freedom of speech without attacking the teachings and values of Islam

    Offence is taken, not given.

Allah created you so what gives you the right to attack his teachings?

Allah is imaginary, it is like saying iron man saved the world.

Would you consider 'questioning' a form of attack? Islam can't get special treatment because it offends you when people question or scrutinise Islam, its teachings and its values. People like Richard Dawkins do this all the time.

In a theocratic state maybe, but not in a democracy with universal human rights.
If your twisted version of freedom of speech encompasses insult to Islam, Muslims, Islamic law and vaules, then that means it encompasses fascism, hate speech, racism and xenophobia. If you want a fascist state then that says a lot about you

Not responding to an obvious troll. The "lock him up for life" gave you away - be more subtle next time. 8/10.

There's also no right that says you have to be a **** to strangers

    There's a time and a place
irrelevant, is there a law that stipulates 'common decency'?

going up to someone and asking them "to explain the Brussels attacks" is hardly harassment. Would you say street preachers and homeless people asking for money are similarly guilty of harassment?

To you it is, but to me who doesn't believe in "Allah", it doesn't... get over it.

Ok ive read it back and see what you mean but the points didnt help.

    You are against his arrest.
You understand people are irrational after the attacks.
You are only interested in those supporting the attacks, although you make no comment on whether his actions amount to any support of the islamophobia and general anti muslim feeling.
