Are you limited by your own view, and are to narrow minded to try to see things from other angles?
For example can athiests unferstand why Christians actually believe in God or do they just think it's because they're scared of life after death or brain washed?
    Any thoughts?

Skip to around 5:40. This video changed how I view my own opinion. I think it's relevant to this thread

I try to challenge my views all the time. Hence why I read mainly left wing news, and engage in discussion with people of lots of different political views, in order to construct a logical argument or, failing that, drop illogical views.

As an atheist, I understand some reasons Christians believe in God; I used to be very well versed in the Bible, and debated one of my evangelical cousins a lot, regarding evolution and the philosophy of Christianity.

To be honest, my beliefs change a lot. Some views are polar opposite views of what I held a year or so previous.
