I know due to being an ectomorph that I need to eat loads but when I do it always seems to store as bodyfat rather than spreading around other areas of my body. How to change this? Thanks

If you're getting fat, you're eating too much. Really is that simple. You should try and establish your own rough TDEE as soon as possible and go from there.

small caloric surplus, aim for 250 above maintenance which = 0.5 lbs gained per week, the body can only grow muscle at a certain rate where if you go over most of it gets stored as fat, there is a point of diminishing returns

I train 4/5 times a week as well. Got a program geared towards making me more muscular, also I'm clean bulking at the moment so not just eating anything.
