Okay so here's the current situation, i'm in the process of choosing my firm on UCAS i've been given two conditional offers.

    Graphic Design Course
    • Lincoln - 280 UCAS Points
    • Hertfordshire - 240 UCAS Points
Unfortunately got declined from Brighton & Leeds Beckett and decided to withdraw from Coventry which has left me with two conditional offers. Lincoln Uni really was amazing, I could totally see myself studying there in September. Hertfordshire not so much, wasn't too keen on the campus so can't really see myself studying there.

Which leaves me with setting Lincoln as my firm choice, next problem is i've got a feeling i won't make 280 UCAS points which is DMM. More than likely i'll get MMM which is 240 UCAS points (I'm gonna work my ass off to try and achieve 280 UCAS points anyway)

Question is do i leave my insurance choice blank as i do not wish to study at Hertfordshire in September and go pray I get a place at Lincoln? Chances are if I miss out on Lincoln then i'll go into clearing let's just hope I get into a university that way instead?

    Thanks

It's a good decision not to have an insurance as there's no point causing undue stress for yourself by using it on somewhere you dont want to go. So just stick to having a firm and using clearing as a back up if needs be.

Yep you should leave your insurance blank if you don't want to go to Hertfordshire, just use clearing if you need to even though there's still a decent chance that Lincoln could be lenient and let you in with one grade lower anyway.

Thank you so much! I've done exactly what you've suggested. Let's hope Lincoln are more lenient if i don't pull through with the grades if not there's always clearing to depend on.

I've done exactly that, really good thing you pointed that out... I would definitely start stressing about not going to get the grades for the Uni of my choice, now i've got clearing to depend on just incase i don't manage to get a place at Lincoln. Thanks!
