Trumpet. I did my grade 1, but I decided I wanted to play purely for the fun of it and I didn't want to play pieces that I didn't like for an exam.

Well I've been playing guitar for about 15 years, of which 13 were self taught (I had group lessons for half an hour a week in primary school). I'd say I'm pretty proficient but most of the time I play I'm playing for my enjoyment rather than with the intention of improving my skills.

I also can play a few things on mandolin and keyboard instruments. Plus I can just about hold a basic beat and do some fills on drums. Well enough to record some songs, anyway.

I've also experimented with bass guitar, stylophone, panpipes and harmonica (in decreasing order of success).

I sing, too, but 99% of the time it's pretty bad.
    Incidentally, I just re-discovered a song I did a cover of on soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/roscoe-1/wick...mcmorrow-cover

I'm on a hiatus this year when it comes to lessons but I am learning the piano.

The last grade I took I think was in summer 2013. It was grade 5. I plan to do Grade 8 next summer.

But I played grade 7 and 8 pieces when I did my A level in music.
