Hello, I am currently a first year studying Computer Science at Brunel University. This year I have really struggled with the course and I am thinking about changing my course to something more Economics related. However I am thinking about changing my university as a whole as my grades are not good enough to go to Brunel for Eco. So how would I go about doing this transition and who would I need to contact to be able to change Uni as a whole?

Also would I need to go through UCAS again or would they look at my first year grades from Uni and consider me?

    Thanks -

    Hi,

You would need to apply through UCAS in much the same way as you did before (though you want your referee to be someone at Brunel).

It is incredibly unlikely that you would be considered for second year entry to an economics course so you will be applying as normal and will likely be expected to match the A level requirements of the course. It is possible, however, that a university will make any offer of a place conditional on you passing this year if you continue with it.

Lastly, it is worth asking Brunel their take on it. While you may not meet the requirements they may still let you transfer. You will need to speak to somebody to get a reference anyway so it cannot hurt to ask.
