A 32-year-old man has been arrested after a Glasgow shopkeeper was killed in what police are treating as a "religiously prejudiced" attack.

Asad Shah, 40, was found seriously injured in Minard Road, Shawlands, on Thursday night. He died in hospital.

The incident happened hours after he apparently posted social media messages wishing his customers a happy Easter.

Police said both Mr Shah and the arrested man were Muslims.

A post on Thursday from an account that appears to be Mr Shah's said: "Good Friday and very happy Easter, especially to my beloved Christian nation x!"...

And what evidence do we have that he was killed because of that post?

    "Christ Redeems"

In light of this attack, I hope you aren't Muslim, for your safety

Maybe we should just blow up the whole planet and be done with it instead of offing each other one by one.

'Police said both Mr Shah and the arrested man were Muslims.'

I wonder if they are part of the community that frequent the mosque where the leader currently been praising a murderer for doing something similar

Oh yes it looks like both are from Glasgow

What we've got to remember is that Christians are the real victims here because of the Christianiphobia that will no doubt occur following this.

Looks like the aren't from Glasgow to me, maybe I need to put on my colour-blind specs.

Nonetheless, they are trying fit in by stabbing each other over religion. Not realising the 99% of the violence between catholic and protestants actually has nothing to do with religion. Bless, at least they tried.

...why would Christianophobia occur? The killer was a Muslim.

I didn't realise until after I posted. Interestingly, notice how it's been dropped from the news now that we know the arrested guys were Muslim.

Remember when the Ahmadiyyan mosque was burned down in Morden last year and it was all over the news then suddenly dropped? You won't read anything on the news about it but local word is that it turned out to be Sunnis (who have a long and extensive history of victimising Ahmadiyyans). So it went from being all over the news to being completely dropped.

Wow, it really does seem that there is a systematic initiative to protect Muslims at all costs.

    ^ This.

The sadest part is that the Ahmadiyya muslims are probably the only sect which is compatible with western society - they're certainly the only one which condemns violence towards non-muslims! They deserved better than they got.

As for that shopkeeper dude. Why would anyone kill someone for being nice!? It's insane!

I have a friend who comes from an Ahmadiyya family and I can safely say her family is amazingly liberal for Muslims. She was telling me that apparently Saudi Arabia has banned them coming over there for pilgrimage because they consider Ahmadiyya Muslims kuffars/not true Muslims. If an Ahmadiyya Muslim goes to Saudi, they get killed.

He wasn't wearing a cross singing praise the lord smh

What he said wrote on his status was simply a message of respect

And whenever you give your word, say the truth [al-An’aam 6:152]And seek help in patience and prayer [al-Baqarah 2:45]And speak good to people [al-Baqarah 2:83]
