Im applying for a student loan this coming september and my current situation at the moment is the household income is over 25k mark which I think entitles me to a smaller loan?

However, by the time I go to univerisity I will probably be living with only 1 parent with a low income below the 25k mark and will have less finacial help.

Do i apply with the lower income or can i change it later on?

Apply with your household income as it was in 2014/15 (that's the tax year they use for normal applications).

Once those details are all provided and approved get your parent to complete this form: http://media.slc.co.uk/sfe/1617/ft/sfe_cyi_1617_d.pdf with estimates for the upcoming financial year. OVERESTIMATE - if you underestimate and your parent's income goes up then you might end up with the SLC demanding instant repayment of the overpaid funds.
