Hi guys I'm taking the A levels privately at the end of this year, and I'll be taking the AS papers as well as the A2 papers in one sitting, what I'm not sure about is that if I focus my preparation around the A2 written papers, I.e paper 4 for chemistry and papers 3 (pure math) , will I still need to focus separate attention on the AS papers, I'm not sure about it as I am taking it privately and don't really have any other sources, thanks in advance

Yes you should. A2 in some subjects helps with AS (e.g languages) but in maths/sciences, while A2 is some applying of AS, there is a lot of separate knowledge at AS.

So yes you do need to study for AS
