# A level Maths "Prove questions" watch

In general any proof that is rigorous will be accepted, but there are some exceptions.

Firstly, some questions demand a specific method, so you obviously have to play ball. If it's a two part question, and the second part says 'hence prove.....' your proof must use the first part. 'Hence, or otherwise,....' and it's up to you.

Also, they often won't accept proofs reliant on off-spec topics that haven't been proved rigorously. For instance, if it isn't on your syllabus, you couldn't use l'hopital's rule to prove something to do with limits because you haven't rigorously proved l'hopital's rule is valid.

Tbh though, A level 'proofs' are normally fairly simplistic so they obvious method will jump out at you.
