So, I volunteer in a charity shop and a regular customer came in and was browsing through items. She often gives me dirty looks when she's in but has never spoken to me before. I was by myself on the shop floor as my manager had gone downstairs to get some new stock. As soon as the shop had emptied, the customer came over to me with a look of disgust on her face and said to me "the world would be a better place if people like you weren't in every country", and then left the store.
I was shocked and taken aback. I have never had anyone approach me like that before, or even say anything like that to me. I'm so hurt by it and I even cried a bit because I don't understand what I did wrong? Am I supposed to explain to every person that yes I'm a Muslim but no I'm not a terrorist?

Speak to your manager, you shouldnt have to deal with that.

I know it probably doesn't help but just know that most people would think the world would be better off without disgusting racists like her, I mean who says that someone volunteering their time for charity is a bad person, that is insane.
