Perhaps a few more details? What does abeille find difficult? What is abeille worried about?

Get drunk, you'll stop being nervous. The key is to find a balance between being sober but shy and drunk but 'grope-y'.

Take props.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but if you can pull something out of your pocket which is vaguely interesting (like a cd or movie ticket) it might give you some common ground to talk about?

Soooo cute! I heart these threads <3

A meal is always nice. A little alcohol if you're nervous. Then cinema (preferably a scary/gross film. May I recceomend 28 weeks later :hubba: )

Or am I just pleased to see you?

But honestly, I know it's mental but whenever I'm shy around another shy girl, I just fish around for inspiration...

I'm also the kind of bloke who has to take conkers, penknives, paperclips, toy cars and string out of my pockets when I go through airport security......

I don't think this is as daft as an idea as some of the other posters have made it out to be! Before my boyfriend asked me out, we had an in joke about a certain type of animal, and he turned up at our first date with a stuffed toy version of it. Gave us a starting point for conversation, and really endeared him to me.

Hooray! The last date I went on, me and the girl had an inside joke about that song about ice-cream and lollipops, so I took her a chupa-chup so she could "lick my lollipop."

How am I still single?

You must've missed it. Shy guys should drink some alcohol, will lower their inhibitions, make them friendlier, funnier and more relaxed. Obviously if you over-do it, it makes you stink, surly and likely to misread the signals and get kicked in the crotch. As i said before, 'tis a fine line to tread.
