Hey Guys & Gals, CARNAGE is coming to Sheffield finally! I always went to the one in Preston, best night you'll have all year. Really dont miss it. Careful though as t-shirts in preston used to sell out really early as its so popular. They're website is www.carnageuk.com. Look out for me when you're there. ;-)

Hi, does anyone know when the first carnage event is? and where do we go to buy t-shirts?

Guys, you're all so wrapped up in Fuzz Club and Gatecrashers that you're forgetting Open Space on a Thursday in Coffee Revolution. Great if you like acoustic stuff, and it's open mic so you can turn up and strut your stuff.

My first indie night since coming to Sheffield last night at Kingdom - if I deigned to do so, where should I go on nights other than Monday for indie/rock music and reasonably priced drinks?

Well there's an indie room on monday. Mostly indie, at least.

Thanks for the tips  Definitely going to Fuzz this week. Finally! And what/where is Offbeat?

They actually played Giant Drag! :-O

Offbeat sounds brilliant, cheers
Offbeat is pretty good, I've been there a couple of times

Most of the stuff they play is fairly obscure-ish (well as I'm not one of those people who devote their entire lives to music...lol) but I still have a good time cos its a chance to listen to new stuff and as they put everything they play on a big screen you can go and download it afterwards if you like something!

You can also dance however you want as there is BOUND to be someone dancing in a more crazy way than you - i.e. some guy doing mega-enthusiastic robot dancing not even on the dance floor, but by the tables lol.

I went last Friday - they played the hamster dance song!! it was genius! although I could just see people thinking "is this ironic? am i allowed to dance?"

ps - you also get a free lollipop which makes it all worthwhile I feel

Brilliant! Problem is, I have a Fuzztival ticket... do I go to offbeat, or fuzztival, or somehow both? Oh, and do you pay on the door or beforehand?
well if fuzztival is a one off thing (i dont know what it is lol im assuming something to do with fuzz club) i guess go to that as offbeat is on all thru the year

you can pay on the door or buy a ticket beforehand, i wanted to go to the first proper offbeat of term but didnt get in cos i'd waited till i got there to buy a ticket and it was full, but apparently that doesnt usually happen and the next time i went i was fine to pay on the door. but if u sign up for the offbeat mailing list (i think i did it when i was there) then they send u an email before each offbeat and tell you how busy they're expecting to be, i think theres also a number you can ring to check how busy it is before you bother setting out only to not get in lol. but i think thats quite unlikely if its just a normal offbeat.

anyone going to this susans house thing tomorrow btw, me and my friend thought we might give it a try. its another indie night it appears, in raynor (i always want to call it ranmoor lol) lounge at 9pm.

Fuzztival is good, but not usually great.

From Castle Square tram stop, go down past the Argos Extra store on your left hand side, down towards the Premier Travel Inn.

Boardwalk Live is on your left hand side on Snig Hill.

Great venue for live music.

Embrace has just opened and it's the best club in Sheffield fo'sho. A few chavs in there, but they're bound to fook off when they realise it's too expensive for their pockets.

Me and a mate of mine (hallam students) have setup a web site especially for Sheffield Nightlife, we've got news on the top nights out as well as full listings for the clubs, pubs and bars

www.sheffieldnights.com

should certainly be helpful to any freshers
