Feeling dizzy

Today while I was shopping, I suddently felt really dizzy and faint, my sight went blurry and I could barely walk straight.

This never really happens to me. Although last summer, it happened a few times.

Does anyone know what causes this?

The weather? As it was hot in the shop. I also felt claustrophobic. Could it be down to anything else?

Any help would be much appreciated

Do you get anxious in crowded shopping environments, It may be down to heat, though you may be having a slight panic attack? I often have to carry a bottle of water around with me whilst shopping and also not eating and being dehydrated can cause this I think.

No, I tend not to get anxious, nor was I having a panic attack.

I wasn't hungry and I did have a bottle of water with me.

It was probably the heat I guess, seeing as when I do feel dizzy, which isn't often, it's always when it's hot.

Another reason to hate hot weather! :p:

I get that sometimes, like someone else said I always always have a bottle of water with me when I go shopping, I find that when it's cool outside and hot indoors it's like WOAH when you go inside.

I <3 the summer, I can't hate it! Hahaha.

I'm not the type of person who gets stressed.

Besides, I've got nothing to stress about :p:

I agree with heat, as well as dehydration.

Sounds like it was the heat that caused it. I suffer from it too. When I get too warm I become dizzy, feel sick, I lose my sight, I lose my hearing, I feel faint. It's a horrible thing to have happen, you have my sympathy. Just try to keep cool, carry water and such during the warm weather. If it persists, maybe talking to your doctor is an idea. I should really take my own advice here of course, though I wont :p: Don't worry though.

Ewww, t'is you :p:

And you're probably right. While I did have water on me, I didn't drink much of it. So next time, I'll remember to hydrate myself well before I go out when it's hot. Although it'd mean more trips to the toilet...:p:

And thanks for your advice Louise

That happens to me sometimes, too. It never seems to have any actual cause, though. But if it didn't seem serious, I wouldn't worry too much

Most likely the heat. Especially if you were hungover or hadn't eaten or have a really heavy period. Those factors mixed with heat are really not good. If it keeps happening though I would go to the doctor. I was advised to do that if I fainted on a more frequent basis in case of anything wrong with my blood.

They don't seem to be frequent, so I guess that's a relief. Although if they do become so, I will see my doctor. But hopefully not!

Thanks all

I had dizzy spells a few months back. It really scared me!

Eventually, I went to the drs and found out I had REALLY low blood pressure combined with stress with my uni course and anxieties about my boyf.

I remember it was horrible, the room would suddendely start spinning and continued when I lied down! It felt like I was severely drunk even though I wasnt!

I would go to the drs and get it checked out!
