Sore throat/Headache/Neck ache/Tiredness

My symptoms are the thread title. MY exams are in a week and I'm feeling under the weather and I'm really worried I'm going to underperform in exams! It's quite hard to revise :frown:

Anyone know any quik fix cures?? Should I go and see a doctor...I'd feel a bit stupid because my symptoms are mild, I just get ill so rarely that I'm being a total hypochondriac about this.

Anything I can take?? Would antibiotics help, because we have some lying around from the last time my sister was sick.

I'm also really worried because my best friend has glandular fever (mono) so I'm terrified I've managed to catch it (not that we kiss ).

I know this really isn't a big deal but I'm just kinda stressed out about it because it's the worst possible time for me to be not feeling on form!

It doesn't sound like a bacterial infection, more of a viral one. If that's the case antibiotics will be of no use. If it is viral though then the best advice a Dr could give is take a few anti inflammatory pain killers, such as Ibuprofen and wait till it passes.

Mono is also a viral infection btw, in case you think you have that. and in this case if it is take some anti inflammatory meds like asparin or ibuprofen. If it persists for any length of time more than a week or two, then consider getting professional advice, otherwise like with a cold or flu you just going to have to put up with it I'm afraid.

Go to your doctor, if only to find out if you can get mitigating circumstances for the exams, could be a godsend! But it's probably just a bit of a cold/viral infection.

Ive been feeling the same, really crap cept i got a temperature with it. Havent left the house in the past 4 days except to go to the doctor this morning. He gave me some stronger pain relief and some anti biotics, so hopefully il feel better soon, and my advice to you would be to go to the doctors as soon as possible :p:

Make sure you get lots of sleep this week.

Sounds like it could be a viral infection. I've been getting them around exam times. Take plenty of Vitamin C, drink plenty of water, eat plenty and healthily (fruit and veg), get plenty of sleep, and make sure you have ibuprofen handy. If it gets worse definitely visit a doctor as it could affect your exams and then you'll need a note. I personally find it helps to stay nice and warm too, so make sure your room isn't cold. Good luck

Don't take random antibiotics that weren't prescribed to you!

The rest of the advice on here is all good so I shan't repeat it.
