Looking to go interrailing from London this summer. Would I be correct in assuming I will need to purchase a eurostar ticket seperatly? Are there any other ways of starting the journey to Europe that would be cheaper?

Yes you have to buy the eurostar ticket seperately, but if you book in advance i think you can get a single for £39.

Isn't flying better for this stage? Possibly same price but quicker

When I did my trip I flew out to Helsinki and travelled all the way around Europe and made the Eurostar my last train. It made more sense economically, plus it was kinda fun to fly as far away as possible then make our way back.

But yeah, if you do start by getting the Eurostar to France, you'll need to buy it seperately.

Decided to get the eurostar, booking at this stage was only £28 per person per way. My girlfriend doesn't like flying and she has a place in Brussels so just added a day on either side to stay there for a bit also.
