Noise levels at accommodation

Hi,

I'm hoping to study Business Management and Marketing and so the accommodations I'm most interested in are Rowe House, St Germans and Lafrowda because of how near they are to the business school and the Forum. I've heard at other uni open days that some people often don't sleep well because there's a lot of noise what with people coming in drunk in the middle of the night - is this a problem at particular accommodations or not really?

Also, sidenote, are Rowe House and St Germans still very social, even though they're a lot smaller than Lafrowda?

Thanks

I was in Lafrowda (block E) for 2012-2013. I had to sleep early every Saturday night (almost) to get up to go to work on Sunday morning. I had problems perhaps twice or three terms in the year, with people being particularly noisy or rowdy. This would be on nights with special social events (which I would have been at, if not for work). As well as that, on Lemmy nights (the uni club - tuesday and saturday), you could sometimes hear the bass of the music faintly until whatever time they kick out. This didn't usually bother me or stop me from sleeping, but you can hear it. When my flatmates came in they were decent human beings, they would normally just have a chat in the kitchen quietly and go to bed, no drunk shouting or screaming - I expect most people were like this. Also had the classic inevitable university issue of unnecessarily noisy sex from my flatmate next door (but not often enough to disappoint her mother)

Lafrowda socialising mostly happened in blocks, or in two blocks that share a staircase (E & F, G & H etc.) so the overall size is kind of irrelevant. Not sure how big the blocks are in Rowe of St G. I do get the impression that Rowe and St G were less big on huge, rowdy night outs but that could just be my impression.
