Mature student at freshers week

I think my student house will be rather quiet, but if the opportunity arises then I wouldn't mind getting trashed. My coursemates might be a bit more raucous. It all depends on how arsed I am though, because I admit I'm less into that kind of thing than I was in my early twenties. You only live once, etc.

I'm 29, three kids and getting married 2 days before I start Uni. I'm absolutely terrified that I'll spend the next 4 years with no one to talk to as it's not easy to get out when you're a mum and I don't want to be selfish.

This is my main fear as well, I'm 36 and a single parent. I won't really be able to hang about at the end of the day, apart from the odd time maybe, so it limits the time I can socialise. I have this fear that I'll just be turning up everyday for four years to a room full of strangers, but I'll be doing my best to make friends and get to know everyone so hopefully I'll find some people I click with and I can spend time with during the day for a coffee or a pint.

OK so I am a first time uni student at the grand age of 28, I have very few worries about the course but not so sure about the social side. Is it acceptable for us mature students to be pulling all night benders with the younger ones? Is it seen as creepy or weird? I really want to enjoy the social side but also don't want to be that creepy old dude. Thanks

Don't stress too much about it, you are ultimately there to learn, if you are invited out then go and enjoy yourself.
