Hi, I am an international student and I got my offers for Immunology & Pharmacology courses both from Strathclyde and Aberdeen and I am having a hard time which one should I choose. I've gone through lots of rankings and comparisions, but they often show contradicted info.
I more keen of Aberdeen because my course there lasts 5 years including one year of industrial placement and after that I get MSci Hons. On the other side, I have lived in Glasgow for 2 months and I totally fell in love with it but I have four year course on Strathclyde and get BSc Hons and don't have a year of industrial placement. I am wondering which uni is better in medical/biotechnology related courses.
Which one should I go for? I don't want to go for Glasgow just because I like this place. It's also important for me which city is cheaper to live in and where it is easier to get a job, for example as a waitress.
    Thanks for answers!

Bit tricky, the placement year would be a great asset to have after graduating. On the other hand, Strathclyde is great for biology courses and Glasgow is a better city to live in (and cheaper!) Would you perhaps think about getting a summer placement if you went to Strathclyde? A lot of students choose to do that if the course doesn't come with the placement year.

Go with the course that interests you more. If you want a career in research it's always good to get research experience and it's difficult to come by especially in more specialist areas so personally I'd go with the year in industry.

I live near Aberdeen and aberdeen is a good uni and it has the medical school courses as part of your course. First year at aberdeen is general 3 sciences and then you specialise in year two. Not sure how Strathclyde does it. If you are talking about expenses, Aberdeen is EXPENSIVE! The flats etc are ridiculously expensive for after 1st year in halls. You'll be guaranteed halls.
