Okay, I was honestly just wondering how to achieve a higher grade in maths with GCSES coming up so soon. I am a straight A*/A student in everything apart from maths and it's really getting me down because I'm spending a lot of time worrying about not doing my best.
I have been doing past papers, and usually get B's which I suppose is fine as I don't wish to do anything maths related at a level however I feel I have the capability to reach an A grade which is the dream at the moment because I would really like a set of A/A*s on results day. Can anyone who is strong at maths or achieved an A or higher at GCSE please suggest some tips for boosting my maths grade? It will be much appreciated

I haven't completed it but I'm doing IGCSE maths and have bumped up from A to A*. So not sure how much I can help.

I do tons and tons of past papers. The only reason I'm loosing marks at the moment is because of stupid mistakes, so checking your answers is crucial. Getting your grade from B's to A's can be done quite easily. Do a few past papers and look at what you got wrong, what topic it is. If you got the answer wrong because you forgot what it was or how to do it. Go re-visit the chapter and do a few exercises. You don't need to do hours.

Another thing that's important (for IGCSE anyway) is accuracy. I lost a lot of marks in my Mock because I didn't do certain answers to the correct accuracy. It should be 3 significant figures (look it up for your board - it should be on the front of the paper). Check your answers after, make sure they can't be simplified.

Other than that, it's down to practice and understanding. Just go re-visit chapters you are unsure about.
