Bit stuck at the moment :P I want to apply for University for next September after taking a 3 year gap working in a range of Hospitality roles (McDonald's Team Leader, Chef at Wetherspoons, and Waiter at TGI Friday). But I'm not sure what course I want to take. Overall, I would love to become a Business Studies teacher but before that I want to work in Hospitality Management (i.e. General Management maybe even Operations Management). Which course would be 'preferred'? generalised Business degree i.e. Management, Studies etc, or Hospitality Management degree for the PGCE?

If your eventual goal is to go into teaching then I think a general business studies/management degree would be better than a niche ultra-specialised course.

What uni are you thinking of going to? I study Business Management at Newman University. In semester 2 we started looking at working and what we can do with our degree and teaching is one of them. Currently we have learned about operations management, marketing loads of different modules that help us decide what we like and where we want to go.

Do you agree with the PM's proposal to cut tuition fees for some courses?
