Im currently during my Pre-IB year and we have a mock ToK presentation coming up. My rls is lobotomy and I want to have a question that is something like "to what extent is psychosurgery ethical". Our teacher told us about the areas of knowing and the ways of knowing, but I don't really know how to use and apply them to my presentation. Also I would appreciate ideas on a final knowledge question.

So I'm no TOK expert but....
    Here are some ideas:

FIRST: Make some knowledge claims (KCs) based on the RLS. Preferably, with regards to the RLS, you should have a scene, like a scene from a tv show (I could recommend Sense8 and check out Nomi Mark as the character, if it's relevant), or a movie scene or a newspaper article or scandal. You could also check whether Grey's Anatomy episodes have any lobotomy scenes??

SECOND: Use whichever WOKs or AOKs you want but the most obvious choices would be ethics and emotion/reason (WOKs) and The Natural sciences/The human sciences (AOKs).
OR, you could go down the route for Religious knowledge systems (RKS) and look at Faith as well and how faith can or cannot be used to heal without the interference of medicine. A good RLS for this would be The Bellew Family and their son.

As for the KQ, that is something you have to figure out because the information you've given is too vague and since I don't know what you want to do, you will have to come up with a KQ from your KCs as well as your WOK and AOKs!

    Hope this helped!
