Me and my friend have booked tickets to Brussels to travel for a few days at the end of April. However, after the attacks my friend is scared to go. Would it still be safe to go to Brussels?

I'm thinking of going either way although my friend is seriously considering not to go. Any thoughts and suggestions? Thank you!

I think you should go . I'm from Brussels and all my falily lives there . Some friends of mine went there 3 days ago . They told people are very careful . There are lot of soldiers and they felt quite safe.I thought like you so I didn't visit my family because of that . I should go and enjoy the trip in this amazing city. We don't have to stop living

I have just come back from Brussels - my friend lives close to the Metro station where the bomb went off - and it's fine. I traveled the day after the bombings by Eurostar. There are many police officers and soldiers around - you should be fine. It's a nice city and as the previous poster said, you have to just keep on as usual.

Brussels is probably one of the safest cities in the world right now. I'd still keep your wits about you like normal though like you should for any major European city, regardless of terrorism.

To be honest, i think that everywhere is at the same level of threat. The UK is at severe risk, so in my opinion it wouldn't be any less safe for you both to travel to Brussels
