    Morning

I'm still deciding what to do - if I moved back into my parents in London, I'd have to pay rent as I'd be replacing a paying lodger. Would I get the maintenance loan as if I was not living at home, given that I'm over 25 and independent?

    Thanks

If you're over 25 then you're classed as independent. As an independent student your parents income will not be assessed as part of your household. They will only look at your income and that of any partner.

Whether an independent student can be classed as living in "the parental home" when deciding loan rates isn't clear.
