I think the first thing is that the sleeping tablets should be used to help you get back into a normal pattern, not to help you get to sleep every night.
Secondly no matter what dont sleep through the day, you will just make it impossile for you to sleep of a night time. If you have been up all night try staying up most of the day, i find this can be achieved by keeping moving and busy. By the time evening comes you should be really tired (perfect), try going to bed around 7pm after a hot bath and you should easily fall asleep, if not take a tablet. The next morning make sure you set your alarm for around 8am as to ensure you dont oversleep.
If you keep this routine going your body should adjust to being up through the day and sleeping through the night. It is also important that your body gets light through the day and is in darkness of a night time to help reset your body clock.
