    Good evening fellow mathematicians,

This link shows updates for Maths 2017 from MEIhttp://www.mei.org.uk/2017

Also, the change suggests that D1 and D2 will no longer be part of A level.
Students will do either statistics or mechanics but in future discrete mathematics may be part of further mathematics

For those you sign up to Graham (edexcel) updates, the video he sent to update teachers does not mention decision mathematics. As a result, we can conclude that D1 has been removed.

If discrete mathematics is not included in Further Mathematics then this will be a major blow to Comp Sci with is a growing field.

Decision Maths will definitely not be a part of A level Maths for teaching from Sep 2017. This is at the request of universities.

For FM, 40% (?) of the specification is dictated by Ofqual(?). The rest is up to the individual exam boards. Edexcel have been doing a consultation with teachers and others to find out what they think the options for the rest of FM should be.
