    Hey,

I recently attended an assessment for senior mentor role and got it. So I thought I may be of some help.

First thing I want to say is...RELAX. The assessment is such a relaxing and fun day, so no need to be nervous. Make sure you read up on what NCS is and their values, because that will help you in your tasks. To be honest, probably 70% of why they would hire you is to do with what's on your application. In regards to what to wear, I would say smart casual. I was in leggings and a long shirt with dr martens lol. Some people were in jeans, dresses and suits. What ever you feel comfortable in, just make sure it's smart casual.

The whole day is about you and your team exercising your skills, knowledge and awareness. You will be given different scenarios that you or the team have to act out. Again, remember to relax. The day is filled with fun and laughter. It's kind of like a games day but focused on youth. I don't know how else to explain it.

They should have given you four different scenarios and you need to choose one. When you choose your scenario, you will have to pretend that the team are the young people. So you just speak to them as if you are in the situation. Remember to be confident, to be rewarding and to also show a clear balance between being their friend and being their mentor.

    I hope that helps.

    Good luck
