Hello! I'm studying for my WJEC AS English Literature exam, the poetry anthologies are Duffy's Mean Time and Larkin's The Whitsun Weddings. One of the big assessment objectives is links between both poets, I'm really struggling with this so any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance

Hello, I'm also studying these anthologies and I'm struggling to study and prepare for them. I understand how to structure my answer using the Assesment Objectives provided by WJEC however, I am worried that I will be unable to remember key points to include in answering! Do you have any tips on this?
Back to your question, my teacher has recommended looking closely at themes and ideas the poets discuss and compare how they're similar/different, furthermore, you could analyse how that idea is conveyed by looking closely at how it's written and why it has been written that way
Hope this helps

Are you talking about key points in terms of context? I've been making context sheets and trying to make some contextual points that are relevant to several poems - for example Duffy's Catholic upbringing, the influence of Hardy on Larkin's poetry etc... If you have a look at the marking scheme for the specimen paper on WJEC's website there are some really good contextual points on there!
Hope this helps, not sure if I've answered your question! Send me a reply if I haven't, it's great to find someone on here who's studying the same anthologies as me!
