My speaking and listening exam for GCSE english is coming up, and I'm not sure what topic to do it on. We were advised not to do a presentation on a book or film, but instead obviously something that can cause some amount of debate for the listening part of the exam, however we were also told not to do anything too political. For my mock I did the Junior Doctor strikes, and I was thinking about one of these topics:
    - Trident/ Nuclear weapons, do we need them? (costs, money could be spent on other public services)
    - The NHS (particularly the privatisation of the service)
    - Poverty in the UK
I was wondering if any of these would be good ideas, as they are things I am interested in, but can give a balanced view of and see both sides of the discussion.
    Thanks

Definitely do something you are extremely passionate about! it allows you to talk freely around your topic and also not just read off your powerpoint! the more emotive and hard hitting you are the more marks you will get!
